I captured TWO AMAZING ASTRONOMICAL PHENOMENA happening exactly TONIGHT!!
The first one is the beautiful Harvest Moon. It is called the Harvest Moon because farmer’s typically rely on the Moon cycles to pick up the crops from their farms that they had spent time growing. And usually happens in September to October! And the Moon has hidden detail on it. It is not just white and grey. It is actually a beautiful object with hints of orange, blue, and brown that the human eye cannot see alone, but a camera can!!
The second one is Neptune at its opposition! It simply means that the ice giant is at its closest point to the Earth for this point in the year. Although it just looks like a dot from our perspective since it is so far away, Neptune has some features that are fascinating! It is the windiest planet in the solar system with wind speeds that are so fast that they break the sound barrier!! And it has rings, as well as 16 known Moons! The largest being Triton, which actually orbits Neptune backwards compared to the others! So, despite it looking like a blue dot, it is a very interesting world from far away.
