Training for the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon @towaterfront42k —or simply looking for a new Toronto long run?

We mapped seven Toronto long-run routes ranging from 17.6K to 32.5K, with options for flat waterfront running, course rehearsal, varied terrain and peak marathon mileage.

Swipe through to find your next long run.

Want all seven routes in Garmin Connect so you can save them and sync them to a compatible Garmin watch?

Comment ROUTES.

Start at Altitude. Finish at Altitude. Get 21.5K of race-relevant waterfront running in between.

Head south to Harbourfront, follow the waterfront west through Ontario Place and Sunnyside, then turn around at Humber Bay Arch Bridge.

Choose this route for steady pacing and fueling practice.

Want 17.6K with fewer traffic lights and long stretches to settle into your pace?

Start at Woodbine Beach, run through Ashbridges Bay and continue to the Tommy Thompson Park lighthouse before returning.

There is no running water inside the park, so carry enough and check current park access before going.

Not every marathon training run needs to be flat.

This 19.3K point-to-point route follows the Beltline through Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Moore Park Ravine and the Brick Works before finishing at Corktown Common.

Choose it when you want hills, trails and a break from waterfront mileage. Run by effort and plan your trip home.

Want the opening half to feel more familiar on race day?

Follow the official half-marathon course through Yonge, Bloor, Bathurst and the western waterfront before finishing on Bay.

Race-day roads will not be closed during training. Stay on public sidewalks and trails, use designated crossings and obey traffic signals.

The second half feels different. This route lets you meet some of its key landmarks before race day.

Start at Corktown Common, follow Eastern Avenue and Queen Street East to Balsam Avenue, then return to Corktown.

Choose it for late-course familiarity and a controlled marathon-effort finish. Use public sidewalks and designated crossings.

Start in the Beaches. Finish across the city at Humber Bay.

This 22.1K point-to-point route follows the waterfront through Woodbine, the Port Lands, H
