𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙛𝙚 #16
Garage Café is an informal meeting place for artists, makers and audiences to encounter new work and exchange ideas. During ten-minute contributions, artists share ongoing research, experiments and works in progress:
✦ anna andrejew (@annaandrejew) presents an experimental performative reading from her recent self-published work, 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙎𝙚𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙨.
✦ Yang Yu (@yuy_yangyang) present her ongoing artistic research project The Lost Box: When McNugget Sauce Became a Border, combining research materials, personal storytelling and invited the audience to partake in a memory experiment.
✦ Minh Thu Nguyen presents 𝘿𝙀𝙇𝙏𝘼, a personal journey of discovering and rediscovering rice as an everyday ingredient. Through a reading from her memoir, questions for the audience and an edible interaction, she opens a conversation around rice and memory.
✦ Emily Hsiang-Yun Huang (@cloud_poetry_film) presents a screening of her film Narrow Gate, followed by a discussion exploring the multiple meanings of the poetry film.
✦ Romana Klementis (@romanaklementis) presents an adapted version of her lecture performance, exploring the relationship between materiality and the medicalised body through transformation, touch and sensory experience.
