18 years ago today at the age of 18 years old, I landed in NYC - my new home from Buxton, Guyana.

Every year around this time I am in deep reflection of my life and I ask myself; Was it worth the move? Am I doing the things I set out to do? Is the sacrifice my mother made justified? Am I living the life I want to live?

In April I returned to my original home🇬🇾 after 12 yearsand it was everything I didn't know I needed.

I danced on Main Street where my primary school was, reconnected with childhood friends, celebrated family, swam in black waters again, experienced antiquities and modernity, formed new relationships and of course ate good Guyanese food😋

I don't want it to be another decade before I return🙅🏾‍♂️

So my reflective question to myself this year is;
Guyana, when we guh meet up again me darling? 😘
