An incredible live art installation at the Chicano Elegance Gala. 🎨💀✨
I’m proud to have organized and helped bring this collaboration together with @chicanoelegance, creating an opportunity to highlight two incredibly talented artists and their individual contributions.
🎨 @fosilmuralista — Fosil Muralista is an incredible visual artist, muralist, Catrina transformer, airbrush artist and designer. For this installation, Fosil created and hand-painted the one-of-a-kind gown worn by @eighteengrumpie, and during the gala he transformed her live, airbrushing her upper torso and bringing the entire vision together as a piece of living art. His work spans muralism, airbrush, body painting and artistic Catrina transformations.
💀 @eighteengrumpie — Patty also deserves to be recognized as an artist in her own right. She is one of LA’s Catrina artists who creates her own headpieces, dresses and Catrina looks. While the gown and body art for this particular installation were created by Fosil, Patty created the beautiful headpiece she wore and brought the entire presentation to life through her presence and artistry.
It meant a lot to me, @lamuertemaria, to be able to organize this collaboration and connect these artists with @chicanoelegance, creating a space where their talents could come together and be seen, celebrated and properly acknowledged.
This is what I love about collaboration—bringing artists together, recognizing each person’s contribution, and creating something none of us could have created in quite the same way alone. ❤️🔥
