TrackTown USA mourns the loss of track and field legend and beloved member of the running community, Frank “Gags” Gagliano, who passed away Sunday, October 25, at the age of 89.
After moving to Eugene in 2006 to work with the Oregon Track Club, Coach Gagliano left a lasting mark on the running community. One of his standout moments in Eugene came in 2008, when he coached Nick Symmonds to victory in the men’s 800m at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials at Hayward Field.
His legacy will forever be a part of TrackTown, U.S.A.

His legacy will last forever. He was one of my best friends and best mentors that i ever had all thru the 80s and 90s. I cant believe hes gone. His spirit lives on

Gags was a great man! He was a surrogate father to many of his athletes. He raised a wonderful family and stayed in touch with his athletes throughout their lives. It was an honor to know him and see him shape the lives of so many 🫶🏼🕊️🙏🏼💫 May he rest in peace knowing he made a difference! #ruscarletknights #georgetownhoyas
