Most of us treat the ceiling like it’s invisible.
That’s the quiet mistake.

She had a loveseat from her grandmother’s formal living room. By itself it felt a little lost.
“Can you decorate around this?” she asked.

I started with what was already there. Soft blues found their way into the rug. Old golds warmed the artwork into a quiet art deco mood. Pink vintage lamps added a soft wink of whimsy.
Still, something was missing.

Then the aha: the ceiling was the only surface left that hadn’t spoken yet.
So I covered it in red wood-grain wallpaper. One bold move. Suddenly the whole bedroom felt like a timeless hotel suite with real personality.

Sometimes the most powerful change is the one nobody expects you to make.
