It is the first truly rainy day of the season here in Northern California and it has me feeling all types of ways.

Part of me is drinking in the freshness and the coziness; another part is mourning the lack of sunshine and warmth; a third is asking me if we really need to leave the house today; a fourth is telling me to pull it together and get to the to-do list. And yet another, probably the wisest one, is watching all of these conflicting desires and needs and knows it is all part of being in transition.

We can pretend that the rhythms of nature don’t affect us because we have central heating and electricity, but our cells know it is time to accept the shift. We don’t have to, we could keep pushing forward as if nothing has changed, but why all that effort wasted in resisting? We could tune into this new energy, see how it shows up within us and work from reality, not from denial. And we might just find that things are a little easier and more harmonious when we align with Mother Nature.

Join me as we celebrate the unique gifts that Fall offers as we settle into the season with intention and joy.
