DEFENDING BREEDERS' CUP CHAMPION SPLENDORA SHARP AT CHURCHILL DOWNS! ๐๐บ๐ธ
Reigning Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) heroine SPLENDORA (Audible ร Miss Freeze) was seen stretching out beautifully at Churchill Downs ahead of another appearance at the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
The Bob Baffert-trained 5-year-old mare, representing Boyd Racing and By Talla Racing, completed five furlongs in 1:00.60, with retired jockey Joe Talamo aboard.
A winner of 10 of her 16 career starts, with earnings of approximately $1.84 million, Splendora has enjoyed an outstanding season, winning five of her six starts in 2026.
The multiple Grade 1 winner is pre-entered in both the $2 million Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) and Filly & Mare Sprint (G1), with the Distaff her first preference as she seeks another championship triumph at Keeneland!

I know he probably wants to keep her and Explora separated, to give Explora a better chance, but she is in tough against Nitrogen in the Distaff. Looking forward to seeing them race. Safe journeys for all, and may all make it back to their stalls safe and sound.
