Today, @sifreshthoughts @salisbury_soroptimists and Swindon Sorops had the privilege of attending the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) Summit @evawgwiltshire at @marlboroughcollege
Her Majesty The Queen @theroyalfamily joined leaders from across the charity and civil society sectors, reflecting her longstanding commitment to tackling gender-based violence.
The summit brought together key voices to inspire meaningful change at both a national and local levelincluding powerful speeches by @jessphillipsmp on the national target to halve violence against women and girls, and Domestic Abuse Commissioner Dame Nicole Jacobs on best practices in prevention and response.
We were also deeply inspired by the powerful talks and expert insights shared throughout the dayincluding compelling contributions from Lee Chambers (@malealliesuk ), @zara_mcdermott , @laurarichards999 (@crimeanalyst ), Lady Lansdowne, Hetti Barkworth-Nanton CBE @hettbn , Louisa Rolfe, @carrielbjohnson and @wiltshirepolice Chief Constable Catherine Roper.
Attending events like this reinforces why the work we do in our local communities is so vital. National policy sets the goal, but local action delivers the protection.
Through the Fresh Thoughts initiative, we are equipping Soroptimist clubs with the exact tools, legal guidance, and front-line materials needed to turn national priorities into local impact.
Let’s continue working together to make our communities safer for every woman and girl. 💙🙏
