Does the artistic director get paid during this time that all the musicians have been laid off? Let's start asking the good questions?!?

@pkjome you have a lot of unanswered questions that this FAQ does not address. Did you not learn from Baltimore?

Sorry PSO management. I-don’t-get-it. How could you hire a new principal conductor, a resident pops conductor, new musicians, soloists, movies, bands for pops concerts within the last year? Then suddenly not have the money to complete those plans. This decision smells!!

@phoenixsymphony does this have anything to do with the contract negotiations with the musician’s union?

Maybe you can either ask the Arizona Governor or the Mayor of Phoenix for help. You can also ask some big companies for help such as Oracle. Back when the Nashville Symphony had to suspend the 2026/2027 season due to financial problems, the company Oracle invested $10 million dollars to reinstate the Nashville Symphony and is now back on track. You can probably ask Oracle (or some other big companies) for assistance. It’s worth a try!
