part one: new baby stage!! 0-3ish months
🌟 order of operations for loading/unloading the car:
loading the car: toddler in car seat first, baby in car seat second, load up what you need.
unloading the car: unload everything and pack up the stroller, baby in stroller, toddler in stroller (toddler is the flight risk so they get strapped in FIRST and unstrapped LAST) 🤠🤠
🌟 carrier naps, carrier naps, carrier naps!! my baby took every single nap in the carrier until he was 3 months old and i would do it again. you get allll the sweet snuggly contact naps, baby could nap when we were out, and i didn’t waste energy trying to put baby down with toddler in tow!! 🕺🕺
🌟 keep toddlers socks and shoes in the car!! load up barefoot, drive barefoot, put them on when you arrive!! one less thing to think about 💫💫
🌟 i would try and time the feeds for the beginning or the end of the outing. if i needed a private place to nurse, i would use the window sunshade in my car and feed in the front seat while my toddler had a snack in his car seat!! i have had the gift and curse of an oversupply and forceful let down so it is incredibly challenging for me to feed in public places 🤣🤣
🌟 find places where toddler doesn’t need help 24/7.. put baby in the carrier and follow toddler around.. easy playgrounds, trails, greenways, the mall before it opens, kids museum, home depot to find the “beep beeps” aka forklifts🕺🕺
🌟 keep a bag of toys and easy snacks in the car for toddler!! these were such an incentive for easy load up andddd helped buy time if needed to feed the baby in the car!!
🌟 big t-shirts + comfy sweat pants/athletic pants on repeat.. it is so much easier to get dressed if your “getting dressed” is putting on an “outside” version of your pajamas 🙌🏼🙌🏼
