hillls you can literally bury me on!! i’m not leaving!! hi 👋🏻 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 &3). i made this account to share encouragement and simple systems that have helped me streamline some of the not-so-fun parts of being a mom so i can maximize all the parts i love.. like going on adventures with my boys 🤠🐛🤸🏼🦋 just a mom trying not to crash out, striving for improvement, never perfection, rhythms over structure, and learning right alongside you. let’s be friends and make the most of motherhood together!! i am cheering us on!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻 #stayathometoddlermom #toddlerboymom #toddlermama #2under4 #momoftoddlers by @madspotts____
🌟make a coffee, and visit Home Depot to find the “beep beeps”!! (forklifts) 😂 it’s seriously a free show and you can stand there (or even take a seat) and drink your coffee while your toddler is enamored watching the forklifts work. have a “trunk lunch” after!! after you’ve seen enough, pop open the trunk and eat lunch back in the back of your car. my toddler thinks this is like the coolest thing ever!! 🕺🏼🕺🏼 🌟 park bike trails + bike pump track!! i had no idea what a pump track was, but my boys absolutely LOVE it to ride their bikes on!! it’s pretty much a warm up course for trail biking - and for them it’s the perfect size racing track for their bikes 😂 this has been one of our favorite outings lately!! 🚵‍♂️🚵‍♂️ 🌟 playgrounds that have greenways, cement paths, or walking trails (that i can push the stroller on). i looooove trying to get a little exercise in myself when we are out, so lately i’ve been let the boys go crazy on the playground and then letting them eat their lunch in the stroller while i get some steps in!! win win!! 🤸🏼🤸🏼 🌟 community events!! i love a “big truck day”, “farmers market”, “festival”, “story time”, “downtown craft event”, you name it!! i’m alwayssss looking for fun free events put on by our local communities (and I’m not afraid to drive 30 minutes if it’s farther away) 🤠🤠 🌟 Trader Joe’s to let my toddler use the mini cart and pick out things for a “trunk lunch” in the parking lot!! iI count this one as free because we’re pretty much just doing some grocery shopping and then eating some of the groceries in the back of the car 😂 hi 👋🏼 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 & 3) i am on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. i’m sharing what i’m learning as a mom, systems & rhythms that actually work, and real life 🤠🤸🏼🦋🐛⚡️ buckle up because we are going to have FUN!! striving for improvement, never perfection, rhythms over structure, hanging on by a thread some days, and learning right alongside you. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 by @madspotts____
part one: new baby stage!! 0-3ish months 🌟 order of operations for loading/unloading the car: loading the car: toddler in car seat first, baby in car seat second, load up what you need. unloading the car: unload everything and pack up the stroller, baby in stroller, toddler in stroller (toddler is the flight risk so they get strapped in FIRST and unstrapped LAST) 🤠🤠 🌟 carrier naps, carrier naps, carrier naps!! my baby took every single nap in the carrier until he was 3 months old and i would do it again. you get allll the sweet snuggly contact naps, baby could nap when we were out, and i didn’t waste energy trying to put baby down with toddler in tow!! 🕺🕺 🌟 keep toddlers socks and shoes in the car!! load up barefoot, drive barefoot, put them on when you arrive!! one less thing to think about 💫💫 🌟 i would try and time the feeds for the beginning or the end of the outing. if i needed a private place to nurse, i would use the window sunshade in my car and feed in the front seat while my toddler had a snack in his car seat!! i have had the gift and curse of an oversupply and forceful let down so it is incredibly challenging for me to feed in public places 🤣🤣 🌟 find places where toddler doesn’t need help 24/7.. put baby in the carrier and follow toddler around.. easy playgrounds, trails, greenways, the mall before it opens, kids museum, home depot to find the “beep beeps” aka forklifts🕺🕺 🌟 keep a bag of toys and easy snacks in the car for toddler!! these were such an incentive for easy load up andddd helped buy time if needed to feed the baby in the car!! 🌟 big t-shirts + comfy sweat pants/athletic pants on repeat.. it is so much easier to get dressed if your “getting dressed” is putting on an “outside” version of your pajamas 🙌🏼🙌🏼 _________________ hi 👋🏼 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart. i am on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. i’m sharing what i’m learning as a mom, systems & rhythms that actually work, and real life 🤠🤸🏼🦋🐛⚡️ improvement over perfection, hanging on by a thread some days, let’s grow together 🫶🏻🫶🏻 by @madspotts____
🌟get my booty out of the house every day 🤠🤠 i can either be momming toddlers confined to the 4 walls of my home orrrr i can be momming toddlers in THE BIG BEAUTIFUL WORLD!! the choice is mine 🕺🕺 🌟 make sure our outings include fun for me too!! i am literally not doing it if i am not enjoying it too.. some might call it selfish i call it saving my sanity 😂😂 🌟 finding rest every day!! i have two little boys. i don’t think i will ever sit down again. my definition of rest has changed, but it is still there 🙌🏼🙌🏼 a few things that feel like rest to me.. letting the boys romp on a playground and then having them eat their lunch in the stroller while we go for a walk.. bringing the boys to a playground that they don’t need my help on.. walking nature trails together.. setting up a “crazy dance party” and letting them go nuts.. making a second coffee and bringing them to a pump track loop and letting them ride their bikes while i walk behind them.. going to the children’s museum!! all of these things leave me feeling refreshed. i am still tired. but my cup is full!! 🌟 once a week i get out of the house by myself to do whatever i please!! my husband stays back with the boys. i return the favor. doesn’t need to be anything crazy. my favorite outing is grabbing dinner with a friend and going for a walk!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 🌟 reminding myself that i have FREE WILL!! this is the most unstructured season of my whole life. i have no where to be and no one telling me what to do?? and i have two adorable, crazy, and hilarious little boys that want to spend every second with me?? i would KICK myself if i did not take full advantage of this season and make the most of it!! this season is hard, there’s literally no way around that, but it can also be SO MUCH FUN 🥹😭 by @madspotts____
🌟 if everyone sleeps through the night (lol).. waking up before the boys to have my first cup of coffee and read my bible!! having a bit of quiet time before the tornado of the day has made a big difference in my patience in the morning. if you still are waking up throughout the night just ignore this one 🤠🤠 🌟 getting everyone dressed first thing (including myself)!! i hate this one but it really does help 👀👀 🌟 getting the dishwasher unloaded at night!! SUCH a game changer for my mornings!! i also hate this one (lol) but it gets us started on the right foot and keeps me from getting overstimulated immediately 🤠🤠 🌟 EASY READY BREAKFAST!! every few weeks i make a toooon of blender protein waffles or pancakes and i freeze them!! such a great grab and go option for the morning and virtually zero clean up.. RECIPE HERE: https://tastyoven.com/healthy-cottage-cheese-waffles-with-oats-protein-packed-waffles 🕺🕺 🌟 i keep a ton of healthy grab-and-go food options for our lunch. yogurt tubes, individual hummus and avocado, cheese sticks, easy fruit.. and i use one lunch box for all of us!! 🤸🏼🤸🏼 🌟i keep toddlers socks, shoes, and jackets in the car!! finish getting everyone ready once we arrive!! saves us so much time getting out the door 🤩🤩 🌟 bag of car toys in the car and strap everyone in before i finish loading the car!! the car toys are a great incentive for my boys to get in the car and keeps them occupied while i grab the last few things we need and make my second coffee 👀👀 ….if things go wonky and i still have a menty b and get frustrated… i repair and move on. i am not a perfect my mom. my kids are not perfect kids. the goal is not perfection. the goal is raising GOOD kids and having a GOOD relationship with them 🤍🤍 _______________ hi 👋🏼 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 & 3) on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. sharing what i’m learning as a mom, systems & rhythms that actually work, and real life 🤠🤸🏼🦋🐛⚡️ striving for improvement, never perfection, rhythms over structure, hanging on by a thread some days, and learning right alongside you. 🫶🏻🫶🏻 by @madspotts____
my structure for solo mom nights!! ✨ naptime reset!! tidy up the house while your babies rest. this is not a full clean. i have catch all baskets in every room and i just throw everything in there. takes me 10-15 minutes 😂😂 ✨ pack or prep an easy dinner (or make it a pizza night if it’s the weekend)🍴🍴 ✨ once everyone wakes up…. two options: either LEAVE the house with a easy packed dinner or KEEP EVERYONE OUTSIDE UNTIL DINNER!! this way the naptime reset is not undone 🤠🤠 ✨ once you return from the outing or finish dinner at home .. brush teeth, bathtime, pajamas (once i finish all this it’s typically around 7:00) 🛁🛁 ✨ NOW FOR THE GRAND FINALE… CRAZY DANCE PARTY!! lights off, music on, stars on the ceiling!! i let the boys go absolutely nuts 🕺🕺 ✨ before you know it it’s 7:45. everyones body is tired. i ask my 3 year old to go to his room and wait for me to put little brother to bed. i read a few books to my 19 month old and put him to bed. i read a few books to my 3 year old and put him to bed. sleep tight!! 🌙🌙 ✨ 8:00. i come downstairs. the house is still mostly clean from the naptime reset, i tie up a few loose ends, and then i can relaxx woooohoooo!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 does this always work perfectly? no 😅😅 but does this structure typically set us up for success and keep me from feeling like i took a beat down? YES!! 🕺🕺 _________ hi 👋🏼 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 & 3) i am on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. i’m sharing what i’m learning as a mom, systems & rhythms that actually work, and real life 🤠🤸🏼🦋🐛⚡️ striving for improvement, never perfection, rhythms over structure, hanging on by a thread some days, and learning right alongside you. 🫶🏻🫶🏻 _________ FRIENDS!! i am sending 2 moms $10 venmo’s each to buy coffee on me 🤠☕️🤍🫶🏻 i love you all, i am inspired by you all, and i want to send a treat!! all you need to do to enter to win is: 1.) be following this account 2.) like this reel, save this reel, and comment something you do that makes solo mom nights easier!! i love new ideas!! my hope for this community is that we can learn and grow together ✨✨ by @madspotts____
hi friends 👋🏼 so many new faces so i wanted to do a suuuuper quick intro!! i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 & 3) i am on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. i’m sharing what i’m learning as a mom, systems & rhythms that actually work, and real life 🤠🤸🏼🦋🐛⚡️ buckle up because we are going to have FUN!! striving for improvement, never perfection, rhythms over structure, hanging on by a thread some days, and learning right alongside you. let’s be friends and make the most of motherhood together!! i am cheering us on!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻 by @madspotts____
ahhhhh yes… “toy rotation” 🤠🤠 systems!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 🌟🌟 i will devote 1 day every ~2 weeks to “deep” clean the house. i typically save almost alllll cleaning until this day!! i start with things i’m able to get done with them awake (vacuuming, laundry, organizing), and then when they take their afternoon nap, i finish the rest (cleaning toilets, cleaning showers, etc.) 🌟🌟i do a naptime reset & my husband and i take turns doing a nighttime reset!! this is not a full clean/organize. this is just a tidy. i have large “catch all” baskets in living room/playroom and we just throw everything in there (i try and sort it on my big clean day)🕺🕺 🌟🌟 toy rotation!! this is just a fancy way of saying about 1/2 our toys live in bins in the garage 😂 i swap them out every few months. having less makes it SO much more manageable to reset our house and keep it (somewhat) clean 😅 mindsets!! 🤸🏼🤸🏼 ✨✨in order to clean a mess, i must allow another mess to take place✨✨ andddddd ✨✨a mess is different than dirty✨✨ little tiny humans play here!! it’s going to look like it 🤸🏼🤸🏼 (i will admit though, sometimes my house is both dirty and messy. we are working towards improvement, not perfection!!) 🫣😂 on my “deep clean days”, i will try and tackle one area at a time. once that area has been cleaned, i typically try and get the boys to play in the area i just cleaned so i can move onto other parts of the house that are still dirty!! yes, whatever i just cleaned is immediately messy again, but again, messy is different than dirty!! 🤸🏼🤸🏼 ___________________________ hi 👋🏼 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 &3). i am on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. THIS TRICK HAS MADE MY OUTINGS SO MUCH EASIER!! 🕺🕺 my toddlers alwaysssss want to bring their bikes with us but it has been so hard to get them both to stay in the stroller basket and realistically i cannot carry them while also pushing the stroller 😅😅 i so wish i could take credit for this one buuuut my DAD actually showed me how to do this a few weekends ago and it has totallyyyy solved this problem for me!! i no longer feel like a clown car with everything falling out as i go 😂🤪 save this and follow for more tips and tricks!! 🤍🤍 _________________________ hi 👋🏼 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 & 3) i am on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. i’m sharing what i’m learning as a mom, systems & rhythms that actually work, and real life 🤠🤸🏼🦋🐛⚡️ buckle up because we are going to have FUN!! striving for improvement, never perfection, rhythms over structure, hanging on by a thread some days, and learning right alongside you. let’s be friends and make the most of motherhood together!! i am cheering us on!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻 by @madspotts____
hot, cold, rain, shine, you will find me packing our lunch up, making a second coffee (🤠), and heading to a place we ALL enjoy!! 🕺🕺 🌟 no lunch time mess at home (can i get a hallelujah?!) 🌟 sooooo much easier to do a little naptime reset!! we typically leave the house in the morning between 10:00-11:00 and get home at 1:30. just in time to bring them upstairs and put them in bed!! there is always still a mess from the morning but wayyyyy less daunting!! 😅😂 and i LOVE starting the second half of the day with a reset house!! 🕺🕺 🌟 getting out of the house to eat lunch is fun for me too!! all about the little things over here 🤪🤠 ✨✨EASY and HEALTHY go-to lunches items!! ✨✨ pb&j grilled chicken & cheese sandwich grilled cheese cheese sticks/cheese slices individual guacamole and hummus packs (my 3 year old dips crackers in them, my 18 month old eats with spoon) yogurt tubes or pouches (if they are on sale) almond crackers healthy pre-packaged bars easy fruit!! (tangerines, blueberries, bananas) ✨✨save for lunchtime inspo!! ✨✨ ____________________ hi 👋🏼 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 & 3) i am on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. i’m sharing what i’m learning as a mom, systems & rhythms that actually work, and real life 🤠🤸🏼🦋🐛⚡️ buckle up because we are going to have FUN!! striving for improvement, never perfection, rhythms over structure, hanging on by a thread some days, and learning right alongside you. let’s be friends and make the most of motherhood together!! i am cheering us on!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻 by @madspotts____
🌟pack lunch, make a coffee, and head to a football field at your local park. typically they have a paved loop!! personally i love any outing that i can walk, drink my coffee, and my boys can just kinda do whatever they want 🤠🤪 once we are done walking/biking the loop and playing on the field, i will stroller them to the playground to eat lunch and play!! 🌟pack lunch, make a coffee, and visit the mall BEFORE the stores open!! 🕺🕺 our mall opens 1 hour early for “walkers”!! this is SUUUUCH AN EASY OUTING!! especially if the weather is not cooperating. i will bring my stroller and let my boys either walk or ride. we end up at the small free play area and will typically eat an early lunch in the food court (free high chairs yahooo) before heading home!! 🌟publix/kroger car carts to let my toddlers drive and pick out things for a “trunk lunch” in the parking lot!! i count this one as free because we’re pretty much just doing some grocery shopping and then eating some of the groceries in the back of the car 🍎🍎 🌟walking trails through the woods!! we can buuuuurn some time on a walking trail!! these are such “yes places”. my boys ride their bikes, walk, throw rocks, hit sticks, you name it 😂 i barely have to intervene and it is always so peaceful to be out in nature 🌲🌲 🌟local nature preserves?!? sooooo underrated?! we love our local nature preserves!! they all have a small reptile viewing room and lots of things to keep the boys entertained 🦋🦋 per usual i will make my second coffee for the drive and we typically pack a lunch and will eat outside before heading home 🤠🤠 _____________________ hi 👋🏼 i’m madison mom of two toddler boys 21 months apart (1 & 3) i am on a journey to crash out less and make the most of this season of motherhood. i’m sharing what i’m learning as a mom, systems & rhythms that actually work, and real life 🤠🤸🏼🦋🐛⚡️ buckle up because we are going to have FUN!! striving for improvement, never perfection, rhythms over structure, hanging on by a thread some days, and learning right alongside you. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 by @madspotts____
i am learning quite literally every day. as a previous two under two mom so much of my motherhood has felt like trial by fire 😂🤠 but something i am SO confident in is that a schedule is meant to serve us!! not the other way around!! the beauty of a good schedule is that is can be broken and allows us to do fun things (like let our toddler skip rest time to decorate 🥹🥹) yes, we might pay for it a little with a more emotional toddler (and i did 😂😮‍💨) but we can handle that!! and we can recover the next day!! ✨✨typical day in our life ✨✨ 6:30/7:30 baby wakes up (it’s unpredictable right now) 7:00 toddlers light turns green & he comes out of his room (immediately 😂) 7:00-9:30/10:00 get dressed, have breakfast, turn on some music, pack lunch, make a second coffee, & load up!! 🤸🏼🤸🏼 10:30-1:00/1:30 outing!! romp, ride bikes, eat lunch 🐛🍎🛝 expel as much energy as possible so my two tornadoes are tired for nap & rest time 😴😴 1:15/1:45 arrive home juuuuust in time for nap & rest time!! put my baby down & have my toddler go into his room for rest time 1:30-3:30/4:00 nap & rest time.. baby sleeps and toddler plays!! i am going to make a video on our favorite rest time toys that keep in occupied for 2 hours so mama can have herrrr rest time before the second half of the day 🤠🤠 4:00-6:00 play & eat dinner!! i always double, triple, or quadruple what i cook so our freezer is stashed!! 6:15-7:00 family walk (really the only time my husband & i can catch up before the kids go to bed) 🐾🐾 7:00-8:15/8:30 bedtime olympics!! brush teeth, bath, & if we have time we will do a crazy dance party!! one or two books, bottle for baby, goodnight!! 🌙🌙 while one parent gets the boys ready for bed, the other one resets the house so that we can maximize chill time once they are down!! 🤩🤩 8:30 unload the dishwasher & BOOM EVERYTHING IS DONE!! 🌟🌟 by @madspotts____
