We will be livestreaming our October 28 Redemption Songs Live concert into correctional facilities, bringing the show to incarcerated audiences.
The Colorado Department of Corrections will carry the stream across its statewide facilities, where viewers will watch on in-cell televisions, and the New York City Department of Correction will screen it at Rikers Island via community televisions.
Redemption Songs Live is a music and storytelling event on October 28 at the Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall in NYC that blends The Marshall Project’s award-winning journalism on American prisons and Musicambia’s pioneering efforts to foster music behind bars.

Programs that actually reach people inside are worth more than most of the speeches about rehabilitation. A concert is not going to fix a system, but it is a reminder that the people in there are still people. That matters more than it sounds like it should.
