13 days agoAbsolutely not how a GMT is meant to be used. Since the 6542 and 1675, the introduction of the jumping hour hand allows you to track three time zones. First, using the GMT hand as the hour hand set the time to your local home time on the 24hr scale. Second, rotate the bezel so now the GMT hand points to the correct UTC time Lastly, use the jumping hour hand to adjust for the local time on the regular 12 hr scale. Time at home? Rotate the bezel so the 24 diamond is at the top UTC time, rotate the bezel back to whatever your home -/+ UTC time is Local? Read the dial as you normally would with the regular hour hand.
