NEON GENESIS SINALOA 🇲🇽🇯🇵

Here’s something a little different for day 15! Got the chance to collaborate with @konabae.co on this crossover between Chalino Sánchez and Misato Katsuragi from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I know, pretty random combination lol, but that’s what makes it so interesting to me. Two completely different worlds that somehow work really well together.

For this one I wanted to mix some of my Sinaloan roots with that classic late 90s anime aesthetic, taking inspiration from Evangelion’s UI, Japanese typography, distressed textures and old-school Mexican imagery.

I also find it pretty interesting how both Chalino and Misato have their own struggles and stories behind them. Different backgrounds, different cultures, but a lot of similar emotions underneath it all.

Had a lot of fun working on this one, and seeing the final design on an actual shirt makes it even better. Huge thanks to Kona for trusting my work and letting me be part of this collaboration!
