Cowboy Bebop (1998)

Aᥒoko Sᥱᥴrᥱt

$“Somewhere I Belong - Linkin Park (Visual Study)” A carousel about pain, longing, and the slow, complicated desire to heal, somewhere between memory, cinema, fantasy and the early-2000s digital subconscious. This piece reimagines the song through three recognizable figures and what their arcs mean emotionally: • Anakin Skywalker : represents the fracture between destiny and identity. The rage of not fitting the world you were born into, while craving love and belonging. His fall becomes the metaphor for self-sabotage and the fear of becoming what you hate. • The Roaring Knight : stands for the awakened subconscious. A figure built from myth, archetype and dream logic. He carries the weight of transformation, the idea that healing often feels violent or messy before it becomes liberating. • Link, Hero of Time : symbolizes resilience and the ritual of persistence. Time as a loop, trauma as a dungeon, and courage as the slow act of rebuilding yourself. “Belonging” here is not a place, but a quest. Together they embody the emotional tension of the song: wanting to disconnect from pain, yet wanting to feel real; wanting to vanish, yet wanting to be seen; wanting to escape, yet wanting to belong. VISUAL INFLUENCES & STYLE NOTES These posters mix: • 2000–2006 Linkin Park visual culture (Hybrid Theory / Meteora textures, digital scratches, scanned debris, photocopier noise) • Analog Horror & PSX aesthetic (low resolution grit, anti-clean edges, lost data vibes) • Japanese print & manga composition (vertical kanji flow, panel rhythm, symbolic icon placement) • Medieval marginalia + heraldic silhouettes (for mythology and myth-weapon language) • Religious diagrams & alchemical symbology (maps of pain / healing / transformation) • Noise-print distress + ink bleed (to simulate memory as damaged paper) The intention is to feel like a recovered artifact from a parallel cultural timeline; nostalgic but unplaceable, familiar but dreamlike. THEMATIC STATEMENT “Somewhere I Belong” isn’t just about belonging to a place or person. it’s about wanting to belong to yourself again, after breaking, changing or surviving. by @rafagrrafa$

against constant connection

This poster is inspired by “Go Offline” by Death Insurance; the urge to step away, stop consuming, and exist outside the feed.

Collaboration with @arnic0o who created the character render and sparked the idea to work together.
I built the surrounding chaos: broken interfaces, glitches, and digital noise as a reflection of online burnout.

Disconnecting isn’t escapism.
It’s survival.

GRAB UR GAME BOY AND GET IN THE CAR

probably one of my favorite songs about friendship and just enjoying the little things in life. sometimes all you need is a game boy, a good friend and absolutely no idea where you’re going lol

decided to bring back that early 2000s nintendo aesthetic, gba box art, pixel art, japanese stickers, random gaming references and a ridiculous amount of nostalgia packed into a single poster.

also had to include pokémon ruby because an origami angel poster without a gen 3 reference would probably be considered a federal crime

anyways, go play some video games with your friends or something

"the cia" by @glassbeachband

sometimes everything around you starts falling apart and there’s nothing you can really do about it. sometimes the best thing you can do is just get the hell out, leave the noise behind and start over.

not everything needs to be fixed, not every place is worth staying in, and not everything you lose needs to be found again.

wanted this one to feel like being trapped in a system that’s slowly collapsing. surveillance, paranoia, endless warnings and a whole city turned into a maze with no clear way out.

but there’s always an exit somewhere, even if you have to make one yourself.

i guess that’s what freedom is all about.

POSTERTOBER ’26 DAY 16

花店 (flower shop) / lexycat

vaporwave has been part of my life since 2014, and somehow it always finds its way back into my work.

for this one i wanted to revisit that weird nostalgic side of the internet that got me into graphic design in the first place. early 2010s vaporwave, japanese internet culture, Windows 98, classical sculptures, old anime aesthetics and that feeling of getting lost online at 3 AM.

played around with digital collage, halftone textures, chromatic aberration, color degradation, dithering and some good old fashioned visual chaos. a little bit of webcore and Y2K thrown into the mix too.

there’s just something about this aesthetic that never gets old to me. it’s like revisiting a place that doesn’t really exist anymore.

12 years later and we’re still dreaming in pink and green.

POSTERTOBER ’26 — DAY 15/31

NEON GENESIS SINALOA 🇲🇽🇯🇵

Here’s something a little different for day 15! Got the chance to collaborate with @konabae.co on this crossover between Chalino Sánchez and Misato Katsuragi from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I know, pretty random combination lol, but that’s what makes it so interesting to me. Two completely different worlds that somehow work really well together.

For this one I wanted to mix some of my Sinaloan roots with that classic late 90s anime aesthetic, taking inspiration from Evangelion’s UI, Japanese typography, distressed textures and old-school Mexican imagery.

I also find it pretty interesting how both Chalino and Misato have their own struggles and stories behind them. Different backgrounds, different cultures, but a lot of similar emotions underneath it all.

Had a lot of fun working on this one, and seeing the final design on an actual shirt makes it even better. Huge thanks to Kona for trusting my work and letting me be part of this collaboration!

KNOW YOUR ROOTS.

If you wanna grab one, check out the official konabae account or konabaestore.com!

POSTOCTOBER 14/31

POSTERTOBER - 13/31
"DISAPPEARING BOY"- GREEN DAY (1990)

“Sometimes disappearing isn't about wanting to be found. It's about knowing when to leave.”

One of Green Day’s earliest songs, inspired by Billie Joe Armstrong’s experience with unrequited love and the feeling of not belonging.

I mixed Y2K cybergrunge, emo/skater aesthetics, graffiti, glitch art, old-school computer interfaces, and mixed-media collage. Different versions of the same boy, slowly disappearing into the noise.

I relate to this song in a different way. Sometimes, when someone hurts you enough, you just reach a point where you don’t want to be around anymore. No revenge, no hard feelings. You just leave and move on.

Not every goodbye needs to be a big deal.
