@nemzzz_’s clipped melodic flows have travelled from Gorton to New York, LA and Australia. Racking up more than two billion Spotify streams and working with some of rap’s biggest names, from Central Cee to Lil Yachty, the 22-year-old has cemented his place as one of Britain’s most successful young artists. While fame has quietly redrawn the geography of his life, he’s resisted the lure of London so far. “I’ll be in and out of there man,” he says. “But I’ll never move. I’d never leave Manchester. No chance.” Outside his local Chinese takeaway, Nemzzz slips back into another identity: Nemiah Emmanuel Simms. GQ jumps in the car with the rapper for a tour of the city that made him, as he reflects on fame, ambition, and what it really means to make it. Happy Day 3 of #selfiewatchweek26 , everyone! Since we are exactly 10 days away from Halloween, I thought I’d do something kind of “seasonal” today… Seen here only once before, this is my beloved Maleficent watch that I received as a gift in my late teens, and it was my one and only watch for several years. I was fortunate to play the role of Maleficent in The Sleeping Beauty ballet at age 14, and then once I got into my goth era in my later teens, it was perhaps not surprising that I identified with and was drawn to the aesthetics of this Disney villain. She’s chic, has a complex backstory, and likes birds - we’re practically twins 😉 My original idea was to kind of mimic her pose with the raven. That proved to be more difficult than anticipated, but I got the “feel” of the pose at least. You can swipe once for just a plain old smiley selfie, twice for a closer look at the watch and all its scratches and wear, and thrice for a photo of me around the age that I received this watch. It’s not too late to show us your face, fam! The theme runs through the 25th, and is hosted by @linusloveswatches @daresome @__timenist__ and me @aviantime - make sure you use the hashtag, tag all of us, and send us your posts #watchfam 🙌
