With due respect, this lady is already an established playback singer who has worked with A. R. Rahman for Ponniyin Selvan. She has already earned her place in the industry. But what about the budding singers who are desperately looking for their first big opportunity? If established artistes keep getting these platforms, where will new talent go? The real purpose of a talent contest should be to discover fresh voices, not simply showcase those who are already recognised. I sincerely request the organisers to give a fair opportunity to the shortlisted contestants who were not selected for the final judges’ round audition. They deserve a chance to prove their talent, too. Give new voices a chance. Today’s contestants could be tomorrow’s playback legends! @arrahman
