Photos and reflections from my run this morning...

I was listening to a Full Disclosure interview with Eric Schlosser, who wrote Fast Food Nation 25 years ago. It was a book that wanted to explore how America had rapidly changed since the 80s through the lens of the fast food industry.

Despite everything that he wrote about being significantly worse since, the author remains optimistic that a positive change is possible. He reminded me of a thought I've also had, which is that our society is not governed by rules of nature - our systems, 'the markets', money - it's all a man made concept.

I was listening to this whilst having to navigate fallen trees and it struck me that our societal scaffolding is like a tree - it feels too big, too deeply rooted to ever come down and make way for something else, hopefully something better and fairer. And yet sometimes all it takes is a gust of wind to bring the whole thing down.

Change is always possible.
