Pre recording rehearsal last Thursday ahead of going into the studio to record Sleeptalk's first single, "This Christmas". 🔔🎶 We had a blast! Mince pies and Santa hats all around! 🎅 Absolutely terrific performances from all the band - we're very excited about sharing the single with you all when it's ready! In the meantime, we have a London gig coming up at the Spice of Life in Soho on 13th November - link to tickets in our biog. Can't wait! by @sleeptalksounds
Sleeptalk have some fantastic gigs coming up. Next week we're so pleased to be performing in support of Bridge for Young People. Then next month we have another London gig! I think I (Larley) played at the Spice of Life in the 90s!! Can't remember for definite though 🤣 Really pleased to have some local gigs in the calendar, especially as we have some release plans, TBA... @bridge_for_young_people @hotvoxmusic @thespiceoflifesoho @seeds_ofsound @theteabarofficial @susyradio by @sleeptalksounds

This is what our Christmas single "This Christmas" explores too - "I'll stubbornly wear this light-up jumper even though it's 15 degrees outside. Try to ignore anxiety rise as I remember how cold December was before". I've written other songs on climate change - it's something that I think now lives in me, curled up in my brain as a low level anxiety. I'm 44 - I remember bonfire night in the 80s/90s being absolutely FREEZING. by @sleeptalksounds
Some photos from yesterday's recording session at University of Surrey's Tonmeister studio 2. Probably one of the most fun afternoons of my life. So exciting to be in such an awesome studio and Rosie, Emily, Phoebe and co were all just lovely and welcoming and made the process really easy and Isaac was a complete legend for stepping in on the piano last minute. We've got a Christmas single, 'This Christmas' coming out ASAP and we are giving any proceeds to War Child. We've got more fundraising activity for them in the pipeline, so watch this space! In the meantime, Sleeptalk are going to be at The Spice of Life in Soho on the 13th November - link to tickets in our bio! @____roosie____ @emily_neil_ @isaacdoesalot @warchilduk @thespiceoflifesoho @hotvoxmusic by @sleeptalksounds
Photos and reflections from my run this morning... I was listening to a Full Disclosure interview with Eric Schlosser, who wrote Fast Food Nation 25 years ago. It was a book that wanted to explore how America had rapidly changed since the 80s through the lens of the fast food industry. Despite everything that he wrote about being significantly worse since, the author remains optimistic that a positive change is possible. He reminded me of a thought I've also had, which is that our society is not governed by rules of nature - our systems, 'the markets', money - it's all a man made concept. I was listening to this whilst having to navigate fallen trees and it struck me that our societal scaffolding is like a tree - it feels too big, too deeply rooted to ever come down and make way for something else, hopefully something better and fairer. And yet sometimes all it takes is a gust of wind to bring the whole thing down. Change is always possible. #running #nature #reflections #sustainableeconomics #newmusic by @sleeptalksounds
I bet you all think this is about a certain TV series... But believe it or not, my green velvet cloak predates Traitors and this song is about something else entirely. Can you guess what? #traitors #newmusic #unsigned by @sleeptalksounds
Watching Bake Off last night, I was entirely distracted by Noel Fielding's SPECTACULAR Kate Bush jumper. Which reminded me of this track I wrote back in the day. The man is my style hero. #gbbo #katebush #noelfielding #wutheringheights #unsigned by @sleeptalksounds
