Ask your lameness questions below. If you have a specific question regarding your horse’s current condition, make sure to analyze your horse in the @realhorseapp and use the “chat with a vet” function to ask Dr. Karsten Key about it.

The third most common cause of lameness is linked to Dr. Karsten Key’s biggest worry in horse care- training on only one surface, horses need variation to strengthen all parts of their bodies.

Great demonstration. Thank you. A question: What could cause inflammation of the suspensory ligaments in both hind legs? Is it always caused by excessive strain? I've been using the RealHorse app for some time, but it didn't detect my horse's lameness. I'm guessing this is because he is bilaterally and symmetrically lame, whereas the app measures asymmetry? When lunging him, I could see that his topline was stiff, with a lack of flexibility and suppleness, particularly in the hindquarters. However, this wasn't picked up by the app either, even though it's one of the parameters it measures. Just a suggestion for possible updates on the app.
