While exploring the Oregon coast, I stopped at the Umpqua River Lighthouse, which has been standing since 1894.
132 years. Think about how much has happened in that time.
How many storms have come and gone? How many people have stood in that same spot worrying about things that probably never even happened?
It made me think about how easily we let little things steal our joy.
A bad day. Someone else’s opinion. Plans not going the way we expected.
I’m certainly guilty of it, too.
One thing I’ve learned from everything life has thrown my way is that so much of what feels like a big deal in the moment eventually becomes something we barely remember.
I want to spend more of my life actually living it and less time worrying about things I can’t control.
Sometimes all it takes is a little change of scenery to remember what really matters. ☀️
