Can Indian parents actively contribute towards it?
More simply what defines a sporting nation?
Neeraj Chopra believes parents can play a key role and senior sports journalist G Rajaraman admits we are far from it at grassroot level.

Government should recognise and support athletes by developing adequate infrastructure and help develop athletes just like other developed countries.Parents definitely do their part.

Events are being removed from athletics, so where will the medals come from? 🏅

Don't expect anything from the federation, sir. They aren't stopping age fraud, nor are they taking any action against steroid use.

Neeraj bhai, why don't prominent sports figures like you speak out against age fraud? Please address this issue.

Totally agree with both of . Ego of an official plays a major role too. When a good athelete does not follow the whims and fancy of an egoistic official coach ( his ego is hurt) , the coach goes to the extent of stopping the atheletes support system and tries to psychologically destroy a good sportsman. We are far far away from being a sporting Nation.
