Before we dive into editing on a desktop, we need to discuss editing on mobile. Probably 70% of my content gets edited end-to-end, inside the Instagram Edits app. And if I edit it on my computer, I’ll still run it through edits as a final pass to add captions in-app because I’m convinced it helps with IG search (even though they say it doesn’t lol).

We’re going to dive into all my tips and tricks within the Edits app, but many will be applicable to other editors like CapCut & InShot.

I still prefer to edit my home videos in InShot. But if I’m creating content (videos that get shared on Instagram), Edits is my #1 choice. I drug my feet over it for a while because I initially thought the idea of Instagram having a video editing app was a gimmick. Now, I am such a big fan. The features they continue to roll out keep getting better & better- apparently a desktop version is in the works right now which really peaks my interest as well.

Have any Q’s or topics you want me to cover in this series? Drop them in the comments!

Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed the Congress for holding a rally in Delhi on November 1, the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence, while BJP leaders and members of the Sikh community held a protest march in West Delhi's Hari Nagar, demanding an apology from the Congress and Rahul Gandhi.

Addressing a gathering in Chandigarh, Shah accused Congress of hurting the sentiments of Sikh families by organising the INDIA bloc's 'Vote Bachao Desh Bachao' rally on a date associated with the massacre. He recalled the violence that followed the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984, when thousands of Sikhs were killed, homes were destroyed and families were torn apart. Shah also criticised former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's controversial remark, "When a big tree falls, the earth shakes."

In Delhi, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri led the BJP's protest march alongside Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and other leaders. Participants marched from Hari Nagar towards Tilak Nagar, remembering the victims and demanding accountability for the killings. Puri described the violence as a planned massacre rather than a spontaneous riot.

Shah also criticised Congress for allegedly ignoring traders' requests to postpone its rally until after the festive season. He said Delhi conducts business worth ₹25,000 crore during the three to four days surrounding Diwali and claimed traders had written letters and held press conferences seeking a change in the rally's date.

The INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan was organised to protest alleged electoral irregularities and demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The competing events intensified the political confrontation between the BJP and Congress over the rally's timing and the legacy of the 1984 violence.

This is the ultimate storytelling hack for educational content.

It’s called The Double Tap.

All the best creators do this, and if you can learn to do it too, you will get way more views.

When you’re explaining a new concept, the reason people swipe away is because they get confused.

You said something they didn’t understand and so it’s just impossible for them to keep following along.

So here’s the hack…whenever you explain something new or complex, use the Double Tap method.

You say the most important things two times.

The first time, is a super concise description with any names, jargon, or specific words that make sense to the experts in the field.

But then you add a repeater.

You say the same thing, a second time, but this time it’s in 3rd grade English or with a super simple metaphor that anyone could understand.

If you do this, comprehension will go way up and people will keep watching for a lot longer.

For example, let’s say I was trying to explain how the Instagram algorithm works.

I might say something like…

The algorithm is designed using audience matching to feed topics to interested viewers.

Think of it like a matchmaker that connects people to the stuff they want to watch.

The combination of those two sentences make it very easy to understand…no matter how much knew before.

And this will massively improve the retention in your videos.

If you really wanna master storytelling…

I put together a doc explaining my 8 short-form storytelling principles.

This is number 4, but there are 7 others that make up the full storytelling picture.

You could just take this doc and feed it into your AI workflow and you’ll be 10x better at storytelling.

Comment DOUBLE and I’ll send it through.
