DOWN BUT NOT OUT. LEWISVILLE’S LATE-GAME COMEBACK.
Two Texas 6A heavyweights. One emotional rivalry showdown. A game that had everybody on the edge of their seats.
Flower Mound came ready for WAR.
The Jaguars controlled much of the contest, forced SIX turnovers, and put on a defensive clinic, showing exactly why they’re considered one of the top defensive units in the state.
But the Lewisville Fighting Farmers refused to fold.
In his highly anticipated return from a UIL suspension, Laykon Brassfield faced adversity all night, accounting for five turnovers against a relentless Flower Mound defense.
But when it mattered most, BRASSFIELD DELIVERED.
With the game hanging in the balance, Brassfield rallied the Lewisville offense and engineered a crucial late-game drive, connecting with primary target Landon Brazzell to move the Farmers down the field before finishing the drive with a quarterback sneak for the score.
And just when Flower Mound looked to mount one final response, Taelyn Mayo slammed the door shut, intercepting Baron Sampson and taking it back for a PICK-SIX to ice the game!
FINAL: LEWISVILLE 28, FLOWER MOUND 18.
An emotional battle between two programs that left everything on the field. Flower Mound’s defense was nothing short of spectacular, but Lewisville’s resilience ultimately made the difference.
For Brassfield and the Fighting Farmers, it was a comeback within a comeback. A night of mistakes, adversity, redemption, and a memorable welcome-back moment.
Two programs. One unforgettable battle. Nothing but respect for both sides.
Watch the final moments of this incredible showdown.
