Did you know dahlias were once grown for food, not just flowers? 🌸
Long before dahlias became popular garden flowers, Indigenous people in Mexico cultivated them for their edible tubers! When dahlias were introduced to Europe, people even experimented with growing them as a food crop.
Today, we grow them for their gorgeous blooms, but it’s pretty fascinating to think about their history!

My dog dug up my tubers and ate them. She seems like less of a psycho now. But didn't dig up the potatoes.
