A dumper was seen driving on the wrong side of the road towards the NIBM Annexe–Mohammadwadi circle on Friday evening, raising serious concerns over traffic enforcement and road safety.
More worrying, residents say there was no visible traffic police presence at the spot when the violation occurred.
This comes amid a series of fatal heavy-vehicle crashes in the area.
🔴 April 5, 2026: 19-year-old Ariz Shaikh was killed after a speeding water tanker hit his two-wheeler in the NIBM Annexe–Mohammadwadi area.
🔴 September 21, 2026: 20-year-old Hamza Ibrahim Sarkar was killed after a dumper collided with his two-wheeler in Mohammadwadi. Another person travelling with him was injured.
Two young lives lost. Two families devastated.
Yet residents continue to raise concerns over heavy vehicles, wrong-side driving, road design, traffic enforcement and safety at the NIBM Annexe–Mohammadwadi stretch.
Residents are demanding:
▪️ Strict action against wrong-side driving
▪️ Traffic personnel at the circle
▪️ CCTV surveillance
▪️ Adequate street lighting
▪️ A comprehensive road-safety review of the stretch
Road safety cannot become an exercise that begins only after a fatal accident. Preventive enforcement is needed before another family pays the price.

Do you see one traffic violation here, or two? Because I can clearly see two — on the same road where accidents are becoming far too frequent. Just a few days ago, two children tragically lost their lives here. Last night, yet another accident involving two teenage boys occurred. And yet, a concrete mixer truck is driving on the wrong side of the road, WHILE THE BLACK TOYOTA car has a largely obscured and unreadable number plate, making it difficult for enforcement cameras to identify the vehicle. How many more accidents and lives will it take before this road gets the enforcement and attention it desperately needs?
