Bandcamp Friday! Probably just getting home from work & wanting to unwind. We suggest the full digital discography from Local Motive. It includes the 3 new singles! And all the Opal Vinopal releases as well. You’ve got the whole night ahead of you & BC doesn’t take any % on the revenue.
Buying merch & music directly from the bands is equivalent to a lifetime of streams & today is truly the best day to be supporting the independent artists out there working so hard 🫶
And to entice you further, here’s more about our newest song that’s been out only a week, “Seaside.” And the artwork, of course!
This third & final single in the set of three follows “Goodness Me” (released 8/21/2026) and finds the band shifting into something more soft and vulnerable with the refrain “I give my love to the sea, but she wouldn’t take it from me.” The dynamic range makes the band sound more cinematic than ever before, swelling & crashing, living up to the title musically & lyrically.
This song, like their previous single, was also originally co-written with Local Motive co-founder and family, Chris Vinopal. Opal Vinopal and company arranged it alongside “Goodness Me,” giving it new depth and lushness with the trumpet and trombone of Matthew Sypherd & Alex Willhite (respectively) & additional organ provided by Noam Wallenberg.
Listen closely in the middle & you’ll hear the joyful voice of “Gracie,” Opal & Chris’ grandma who had a song named after her way back on the “Grams” LP when Chris was still active in the band. The audio was excavated from an old home movie Opal’s Aunt Barb had in her archives.
