as we enter the last leg of the year, it’s time to admit it

2026 has been the year of electronic music, and it’s not even close. in a year where hiphop has become more and more fragmented, many have turned to one genre that’s taken the entire internet by storm with a vast number of characters and new personas in the budding electronic scene

what we’ve seen over the past few years evolve through the spread of hyperpop, edm, and more, has culminated today in a scene where we can look at the likes of underscores, working with skrillex and massive artists in today’s scene, as well as tiffany day, thoom, and various others blowing up in huge ways online

there’s especially been a lot of diversity that’s come into the scene over the past couple months, as more and more eyes have turned to different groups who are also coming up and making their own lanes known. sadder days, ear, the twins (one of my favorites), brothel in belize, and more all define that

when we look to the future of music, this is a scene i think nobody can take their eyes off after the earth-shattering year that so many artists have had. as we look to 2027, let me know who you guys have tuned into the most out of the electronic scene this year, and who you may have your eyes on as an upcoming artist making waves
