A pair of scissors cutting a single hair. I’m excited to announce that I believe to have built the first ever ultra-wide-angle microscope lens. Or as I like to call it, the macrozoom lens! The goal was to create my dream microscope lens - a lens that could do it all. It can transition from a magnification of around 50x all the way to a standard wide-angle lens, in a single movement. This new lens now allows me to focus on an individual hair, and then quickly shift the focus all the way up to a “regular” camera lens. The individual images can then be focus stacked, to create this new perspective, capturing extremely small objects in combination with an infinite depth of the surrounding environment. It essentially combines my original macrozoom videos into one single image. For video capture this lens also allows me to quickly change my magnification while being parfocal. But I will share more on that later on! The setup. With everyone getting busy with AI over the few years, I decided to invest the better part of the last two years in the opposite direction. I wanted to make my setup more mechanical, relying less on editing softwares like After Effects or Photoshop. What is the difference to a normal microscope? Traditional microscope lenses have a fixed magnification. To change the magnification you need to switch out the lens. There are some lenses that can zoom in and out. However, their range is limited to the microscopic range. Also, the depth of field is still extremely shallow. I wanted a lens that could shift its focus all the way to a “standard” camera lens, while also focusing on extremely small objects. And until now, no such lens existed… And now that I’ve build one, I see why. At the moment it’s very impractical, as it’s very big, and it needs a lot of light. The use case is so specific that no one else really has a practical use for it. Also, focus stacking softwares have a lot of trouble merging the images. However, this is my first working prototype, and I intend to optimize it further, and share the process here! You can see how the focus is shifting. Instead of taking individual pictures, I tend to capture a video directly u

GEF 2025 @globalentrepreneurshipfestival in Ghana was such a special experience, opening doors to new opportunities and bringing wonderful people into my life. And one of those special encounters was meeting this lovely little girl, Adepa @adepahemaa_ 🇬🇭🌸 I’m so happy that our journey continues, and we’re growing together. There’s so much more ahead of us, and I can’t wait to see what beautiful opportunities the future brings! ✨ Keep shining, my little star. This is only the beginning! 💖🌍
