Join us on October 31st for an extra-special in-store event as we celebrate the life, music, and enduring legacy of your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper: MF DOOM.
We’re teaming up with our good friends from the Liberation Records family in London to bring you a day dedicated to the villain’s iconic sound and cultural influence. They’ll be travelling over with a heavy selection of DOOM classics, deep sampled cuts, and related records. Liberation Records will also bring a crate or two filled with records that will be available to buy throughout the day.
Behind the decks, Liberation Records bossman B Sides is linking up with London crew Markus Muktarsingh, DJ Don, and Jez P for an extended DJ set. Rounding out the lineup, local legend and die-hard hip-hop head IZZY will be dropping in with his own curated vinyl bag.
To keep everyone fueled, our friends and fellow hip-hop heads PAK PAK GAUW are setting up their already-legendary pop-up kitchen to serve up delicious bites and meals all during the event. Vinyl crates, heavy tunes, and incredible food… come kick it with us and pay homage to a legend.
“I’ve been a massive fan of MF DOOM (ALL CAPS when you spell the man’s name) since Operation Doomsday dropped. I knew nothing about him but the LP and the track Rhymes Like Dimes especially just blew me away. The first person I ever met that also knew the LP was Rob Pursey who I got chatting to on a nightbus ride home. We nerded out the whole trip discussing everything from the artwork, the character, the lyrics, the production…everything. DOOM is an artist that brings people together so what a special way to mark his birthday with the Offbeat Records crew.” - B Sides (Liberation Records)
