For the London School of Economics and Political Science Hub for African Thought (@londonschoolofeconomics), Chapter54’s Founder and Lead Consultant Ama Ofeibea Tetteh brings together a reading list that explores different dimensions of Africa’s creative economies, from artistic and curatorial education and image making to fashion, creative sector finance and design.
Drawing on her own experience across research, programme management and the creative sector, Ama reflects on publications including Àsìkò: On the Future of Artistic and Curatorial Pedagogies in Africa, The African Gaze: Photography, Cinema and Power, Creative Cash Flow, Africa Fashion: A Cultural Renaissance and African Design Futures.
Together, the titles offer a window into the ideas, practices and systems shaping the continent’s creative landscape and the possibilities for a more confident, rooted and sustainable creative future.
