Chapter54Founder and Lead Consultant, Ama Ofeibea Tetteh (@ofeibea), served as Chief Judge of the Threads of Africa Fashion Film Prize 2026 and opened the Threads of Africa segment on Day Two of the Elevate Africa Convening (@weelevateafrica), held under the theme “Africa: Defining Her Future” at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.

Founded by Their Majesties the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and Olori Atuwatse III (@oloriatuwatseiii), Threads Of Africa invited creatives across the continent to document endangered African textiles under the theme “Stories of Rebirth”. This year’s call received nearly 100 films from 15 countries, documenting more than 20 textiles and forming the beginning of a living archive of African stories.

In her address, Ama set out the creative economy as central to Africa’s development, and posed the question that shaped this year’s prize: What does Africa lose if the people who carry its heritage are never given the means to pass it on? She explored how documentation, intra-African trade, structured investment and emerging technologies such as AI can help reframe heritage as living intellectual property, and closed on the role of education in the craft, in business and through mentorship.

Chapter54 is proud to support initiatives that position African heritage as both a cultural voice and a commercial engine. Our thanks to their royal majesties, Elevate Africa, the Threads of Africa team and fellow judges.

As part of our ongoing work supporting creative and cultural enterprises, Chapter54 was invited to partner with Christie Brown to deliver a research led professional development programme for the Christie Brown Design Team (@christiebrowngh)

The programme formed part of the development of the Christie Brown Academy and Design & Innovation Hub, exploring creative research, collaborative working methods, and approaches to knowledge sharing and creative development. The sessions created space for reflection, experimentation, and practical goal setting, while considering how different creative development models can be adapted within local contexts.

It was a real pleasure to experience the team’s openness, curiosity, and commitment to strengthening both individual practice and collective ways of working.

Chapter54 founder and lead consultant Ama Ofeibea Tetteh, in partnership with the LSE Firoz Lalji Africa Institute (@londonschoolofeconomics), recently convened Diasporic Currents and Cultural Flows: An Archiving Workshop at the LSE Alumni Centre in London.

As part of her Creative in Residence research project on Creative Connections between the Caribbean and West Africa, the workshop took a moment to recognise the the role London has played as a site of convergence for diaspora communities over the years.

Bringing together members of London’s West African and Caribbean diaspora communities, the workshop explored the shared cultural histories and creative exchanges that continue to shape diasporic life in Britain. Through conversations around music, fashion, food, carnival traditions, language, and oral histories, participants reflected on the everyday practices, memories, and cultural inheritances that connect communities across the Atlantic.

Images from the recent validation workshop for The Ghana Green & Digital Inclusive Private Sector Development (GDI-PSD) Project. Having concluded our research on Gender Inclusion in Ghana’s Creative and Cultural Industries as part of the programme, Chapter54 (@_chapter54) was present to share findings and engage with other stakeholders and delivery partners including i4Policy (@i4policy), Villgro Africa (@villgro_africa ), Communique (@communique_hq), Briter Bridges (@briter.co) and HMST.

Speaking with female entrepreneurs from Ghana’s CCI’s confirmed many challenges we knew existed but also exposed layers of context and resilience in spite of this. It was an honour to include the voices of women from across the country whose experiences shape and hold the sector up.

A great pleasure also to work with Expertise France (@expertisefrance) supported by their implementing partners, European Union (@europeinghana) Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) together with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Greater Accra Regional Office to delve into how to strengthen the private sector in Ghana.
