If I ever hear this line again...

I've started this business a year before my son was born, when he was just a glimmer of hope. I used to work in the gambling industry and I knew that my job was incompatible with raising a baby since we had no friends or family to help.

I knew I had to build something that I could do with a baby in tow. So I did.

I started by doing balloons in Essex, before moving to Kent. Sasha was a few weeks old when I took him on his first delivery of a gender reveal balloon.

I've built this business around the knowledge that my child will need me. I haven't planned for that need to be as extensive 7.5 years later, but I'll always make it work.

Home educating Sasha isn't a matter of luck, nor luxury. I work hard and my work is definitely harder when I also have to be a mum & a teacher (I'm not complaining, wouldn't have it any other way). I made this decision and I couldn't be happier with it. Is it working? Yes. Is it better for Sasha? Absolutely. Is it better for me? For now, yes. But by no means does it mean I'm lucky. I work twice as hard to make sure my son has the education I think works for him.

This business brought so many positives into my life, things I've never envisioned nor hoped for, from relationships and experiences to a new level of independence and the ability to arrange my life as I see fit. This doesn't mean I don't work hard or that I'm simply lucky.

To all my event decor friends out there, hats off to you! Not everyone will understand how many hats we juggle, but that doesn't negate the effort & hard work that goes into what we do!
