First Edition JOKERS decks ship with hand-numbered ORIGINAL PRANKSTER Certificate of Authenticity cards. 💎
One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about making JOKERS is getting to make something that actually exists in the real world. I spend so much of my life making things that ultimately live on a screen, so there’s something really satisfying about working on something physical that people can hold onto, or share with others.
From the beginning, I’ve wanted JOKERS to feel like more than just a game...I want the cards and characters to become family heirlooms that have a timeless quality to them, and I’ve tried to put enough care into the artwork, printing and little details that the decks feel like objects worth keeping.
For the First Edition, I decided to make these little Certificates of Authenticity to include with the first 500 decks. I’m printing them, adding the seal and custom ORIGINAL PRANKSTER embossing, hand-numbering and distributing myself, which is probably way more work than is necessary, but I'm genuinely enjoying this part of the journey. Exciting that actual decks are almost making their way into people’s homes...it's a cool milestone.
I have plenty of ideas for the future, but my deepest hope is to just keep building this for a long time and to create something with enough personality, craft and staying power that people will want to hold onto it and make it part of their story. Here's to chasing big dreams!
