The future of work is a conversation we cannot afford to have without young people. I was pleased to participate in the FES Dialogue Forum (III):
“Youth and the Changing World of Work: Challenges, Opportunities and Pathways to Decent Work in Tanzania” in Dar es Salaam.

The dialogue brought together perspectives from workers, employers, entrepreneurs and young people to explore some important questions:
💼 How can we create more pathways into decent work?
🎓 What skills will young people need in a rapidly changing world of work?
🚀 How can entrepreneurship and innovation create sustainable livelihoods?
🤝 What can employers, unions and other stakeholders do to support young people?
🗣️ And most importantly, how can young people be placed at the centre of shaping the future of work?
The group discussions were a valuable opportunity to move from identifying challenges to thinking about practical and transformative solutions.
The future of work is not only about adapting to change, it is about ensuring that young people have the opportunity to shape that change.
Thank you to FES Tanzania and all the participants, speakers and contributors for creating space for this important conversation.
Mustakabali wa kazi ni mjadala ambao hatuwezi kuufanya bila kuwashirikisha vijana. Nilifurahi kushiriki katika FES Dialogue Forum (III) iliyofanyika Dar Es Salaam:
“Vijana na Mabadiliko katika Sekta ya Ajira: Changamoto, Fursa na Njia za Kufikia Ajira Zenye Staha nchini Tanzania”.
Majadiliano hayo yaliunganisha mitazamo ya wafanyakazi, waajiri, wajasiriamali, vijana na wadau wengineo ili kujadili maswali muhimu:
💼 Tunawezaje kuunda njia zaidi za kupata ajira zenye staha?
🎓 Vijana watahitaji ujuzi gani katika ulimwengu wa kazi unaobadilika kwa kasi?
🚀 Ujasiriamali na ubunifu vinawezaje kuleta kipato endelevu?
🤝 Waajiri, vyama vya wafanyakazi na wadau wengine wanaweza kufanya nini ili kuwaunga mkono vijana?
🗣️ Na muhimu zaidi, vijana wanawezaje kuwekwa mstari wa mbele katika kuunda mustakabali wa kazi?
