HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis ⚠️ SENSITIVE: Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a woman on multiple felony charges, accusing her of killing 4 kittens, burying 2 alive, because she believed they were “demonic.” Last Thursday (October 8), police arrested 37-year-old Alba Chavez and charged her with four felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty involving torture, inflicting pain, serious injury or death to an animal. ___________________________________________________ Additional charges could follow if a missing fifth kitten is found dead. While speaking at press conference on Friday (October 9), MCSO Sheriff John Budensiek described Chavez as an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, noting, “She’s not going anywhere, any time soon.” MCSO said Uniform Patrol Deputies and Investigators with MCSO Animal Services are investigating after discovering two kittens buried alive and two dead outside a home in the Hobe Sound Mobile Home Park. MCSO said deputies were actively digging up parts of the property after the homeowner, Chavez, admitted to burying at least four of her cast alive in her yard. She allegedly told police she believed they were demons. ___________________________________________________ Police were able to save two of the kittens. Authorities said there were other adult cats found at the home who were examined by animal services and determined to be healthy. Chavez allegedly admitted to killing two kittens on Monday (October 5), throwing them into the trash, removing them, and then trying them in her backyard. So, the children attempted to protect the remaining kittens by... ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 Martin County Sheriff’s Office / WPBF

“Young people are not being included in the conversation,” said the Swedish climate activist @gretathunberg as she joined students protesting in France on Tuesday. The country witnessed another day of nationwide demonstrations over chronic teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms and crumbling buildings. Now in their third week, the protests – backed by unionists, some teachers and radical leftwing opposition politicians – have shaken a government caught between calls for urgent public investment and pressure to reduce France’s ballooning deficit and debt. So far, more than 200 teenagers, 100 school staff and 700 police officers have been injured as many accuse the police of using disproportionate levels of force.
