Travelling to the other side of the world with Dice 🐾✈️🌍 Over 200kg of luggage, board bags, kitegear, a dog and everything we need for four months in Cape Town. Travelling light? Never heard of it 😂 If you think travelling to South Africa with a dog is easy, let me tell you, it’s a NIGHTMARE 😅 Every year I spend months sorting out all the paperwork, permits, blood tests and veterinary checks. But after all the packing, planning and travelling, seeing that happy face running around on the beach in Cape Town makes every bit of effort worth it 🥹❤️ A few things about flying with Dice. Dice is a certified medical service dog, which is why she’s allowed to fly in the cabin with me. During the 11-hour flight, she basically sleeps the entire time, usually on the floor between my legs. I always offer her food and water several times, but she never wants any. Sometimes she takes a little bit of water from my hand, but that’s about it. And somehow she holds her pee the entire flight! I always have a special mat in case she needs to go, but in all these years she’s never used it. Once we land, the first thing I do is take her for a walk. Oh and OO-MY-GOD, imagine doing all of this with two kids one day... I already feel like a travelling circus, so I have no idea how Giel and I are going to manage that. But stick around for a few more years and I guess we’ll find out 😂 #travelwithmydog #schiphol #travelvlog #capetown

We didn’t take home the Emmy tonight, but I'm truly blessed to now be a Emmy Nominated TV Host and Chef and I’m leaving with a heart full of gratitude. 🙏🏾❤️ To hear Savor the City with Chef Jernard named among the Daytime Emmy nominees is a moment I will always cherish. This journey has given me so much to be thankful for the people, the stories, the communities, and the opportunity to share my love of food with the world. First, I thank God for giving me the gift of conversation and good food, and for opening doors that have allowed me to use those gifts with purpose. To my TV One and Urban One family Cathy Hughes, Alfred Liggins, Michelle Rice & Susan Henry thank you for believing in me and this vision. To my Powerhouse Productions family Rochelle, Sonia, Kenny, Jaylah, Zamia, Jason, Andre, and Cee thank you for the talent, heart, and hard work you pour into this show. I’m proud of what we’ve created together. To my beautiful wife, Keena, thank you for standing beside me for 27 years. Baby, look how far we’ve come together. To my mother, Gwendolyn look what you created. Your love continues to travel with me everywhere I go. To my children and my Cornbread & Butter Restaurant family holding it down back home in Atlanta and my team on the @onevoyagecruise , and everyone who prayed, watched, supported, and cheered us on please know how much you mean to me. Congratulations to tonight’s winners and all my fellow nominees. It was an honor to share this moment with you. Tonight, I’m thankful. I’m proud of our team. And I’m excited for the stories we have yet to tell. With love and gratitude, Chef Jernard ❤️ #ChefJernard #SavorTheCity #DaytimeEmmys #EmmyNominee #TVOne @theemmys.tv @tvonetv @powerhouseproductionstv @keena1031 @therochellebrown
