I went to Cincinnati for a show. I came home with a responsibility.
Last night, Nichole Tarpley-Moore, Marsha Martin, and I were at the Taft Theatre for DL + DL “Anything Goes,” the live tour bringing journalist Don Lemon and comedian D.L. Hughley together for an unexpected mix of humor, storytelling, current events, social issues, and real conversation.
What stayed with me wasn’t just the show, it was the reminder that we can choose to come together instead of divide, educate instead of assume, and serve instead of simply complain.
I’m already registered as a volunteer with the Board of Elections. Although I haven’t had the opportunity to serve in that capacity recently, I realize this is one more way I can serve my community.
So I’m going to learn, share information, and help the people I encounter understand how to register, update their information, check their registration, and participate in the voting process.
Not telling anyone who to vote for.
Not telling anyone what to believe.
Just encouraging people to BE INFORMED. BE ENGAGED. USE YOUR VOICE.
Sometimes a great evening gives you more than memories.
Sometimes it gives you a responsibility. ❤️
