Thy mercy I seek oh Lord. 🤍

Not because I am perfect,
But because without You, I am nothing.

When my strength fails, Your mercy speaks.
When doors close, Your mercy opens a window.
When men forget, Your mercy remembers me.

I have seen Your mercy in the clients You sent,
In the battles You fought that I never saw,
In the grace that kept me when I should have fallen.

I don’t chase perfection.
I chase mercy.
And mercy keeps chasing me.

Psalm 136:1 - His mercy endures forever.

Thousands of people joined the INDIA bloc’s march towards the Supreme Court in New Delhi on October 12, following Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s call to protest alleged “vote chori” and file a petition against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The march, titled “Chalo Delhi – March for Democracy”, saw opposition leaders, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, travel towards the Supreme Court from the Connaught Place–Barakhamba Road junction. Gandhi had urged opposition parties, party workers, young people and civil society groups to join the demonstration, describing it as a fight to protect the Constitution and the country’s electoral system.

The INDIA bloc plans to challenge alleged electoral irregularities and raise concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Opposition parties have alleged that the voter-list revision process and other election-related decisions undermine democratic representation. The Election Commission has defended its decisions, maintaining that its orders follow established legal procedures.

Before the march, Gandhi said the opposition would approach the Supreme Court and file a petition against the CEC over the allegations. He also urged Gyanesh Kumar to resign and become an approver, alleging that larger forces were behind the irregularities. These remain opposition allegations, not established judicial findings.

The march came after Chief Justice of India Surya Kant declined the INDIA bloc leaders’ request for a meeting. Gandhi said the Chief Justice had directed them to pursue legal remedies by filing a petition.

The opposition has framed the campaign as a broader fight to safeguard the Constitution, demand accountability in the electoral system and address concerns over voter-list revisions. The petition marks its attempt to take the dispute over alleged “vote chori” to the country’s highest court.

I think one of the reasons this took me so long to understand is because autism wasn’t new to me.

Hannah’s brother is autistic. Weve been through the assessments, learned so much about autism, and spent years advocating for him.

I thought I knew exactly what to look for, but I was looking at everything through the lens of how autism presented in my son.

I was looking for the classic signs and all of the red flags. When she didn’t fit that picture, autism was easy to question and even easier to rule out.

Even when my gut started telling me there might be something more, I pursued multiple assesments but I was told she didn’t meet the criteria because she made eye contact, communicated well, was socially engaged and was thriving academically. From what they observed, there wasn’t enough that fit the picture of autism they were looking for.

After years of being dismissed, we found someone who looked beyond the more obvious presentation and took the time to understand the whole picture. All of a sudden so many years of questions started making sense.

I think this is why conversations about autism in girls matter so much. It’s not that autistic girls all present one way or that boys all present another. But for a long time, our understanding of autism was heavily shaped by the presentations we were most accustomed to recognizing. Girls who were able to adapt, compensate, or mask could be much easier to overlook, but their struggles were still there.

I share our experience because I know there are parents out there being told not to worry while something in their gut keeps telling them there’s more to understand. There’s so much I wish I had known then, but I’m so thankful that we finally have a better understanding of her, and what she experiences, so that we can better support her. 💜
