Ngauruhoe spring summit mission⛰️
Well where do I start what an epic mission that was, started the mish at 2:20am to try and summit at sunrise being at 7:00am. Little did I know how much harder it was going to be compared to the summer summit I had completed earlier in the year. We faced frozen scree which for me made the climb incredibly harder to the point where I had to use my ice axe to chip away foot wells for my foot placement. To be completely honest this was the scariest mission I’ve been on and I was lowkey shit scared of slipping and falling. But with all the focusing and right decision we were able to climb safely to the summit. We slapped on the crampons to get to the summit and explore the near peaks. How bloody incredible. Perfect conditions aswell! For the future of another spring summit or a full winter summit I know now where and what our mistakes were and what we did well. Overall a wicked mission to write down in the books and I am feeling incredibly grateful, motivated and fulfilled!
