@kalejunkie melt in your mouth hibachi-style steak bowls with high protein yum yum sauce šŸ¤— this was gavynā€™s request last week and he wanted to film it so you make it tooā€”the key to TENDER beef is written for you in the instructions below! I hate tough meat and these bites will melt in your mouth. Donā€™t skip the sauce, youā€™ve been warned šŸ˜!ā£ ā£ Makes 4 servingsā£ 2 lbs top sirloin steak, cut into 1 1/2ā€ chunksā£ 2 tb rice vinegar ā£ 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce ā£ 2 tsp ground gingerā£ 2 tsp garlic powderā£ 1 tsp onion powderā£ 1/2 tsp kosher saltā£ 1/2 tsp ground white or black pepperā£ 4 tb butter (divided)ā£ 2 1/2 tb toasted sesame oil (divided)ā£ 3 carrots, peeled and cut into coinsā£ 2 medium zucchini, cut into sticksā£ 6 oz sliced mushrooms of choice ā£ 3 tb bbq sauce of choice (bachanā€™s is our fav!)ā£ ā£ Yum Yum sauce:ā£ 1 cup fat free greek yogurt ā£ 3 tb srirachaā£ 2 tb rice wine vinegar ā£ 1 tsp toasted sesame oilā£ 1 tsp dijon mustardā£ 2-3 cloves garlic ā£ 1/2 tsp kosher saltā£ 1/2 tsp ground white or black pepperā£ ā£ To serve:ā£ 2 cups cooked rice and sesame seedsā£ ā£ First, make the yum yum sauce. Add all the ingredients to a small blender and blend until smooth. Taste, adjust as needed, and set aside. Next, pat steak dry, cut into chunks and add to a bowl. Add the vinegar, 1/2 tb sesame oil, soy sauce, ground ginger, onion powder, S&P. Toss to coat well. Marinate at least 30 min or up to 4 hours for maximum flavor (or skip it all together). Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add 2 tb of the butter and 1 tb sesame oil. Once melted, add the veggies and sautĆ© 10-12 minutes until the veggies have softened. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Transfer to a plate. Add remaining butter and sesame oil to the pan. Add the beef in a single layer, working in batches. Do NOT overcrowd the pan or meat will come out tough. Toss the beef but do NOT cook longer than 3-4 minutes max! Remove pan from heat. Toss w bbq sauce and plate meal immediately so the beef doesnā€™t cook longer in the panā€”cooked rice, veggies, beef and top with yum yum sauce and sesame seeds. Enjoy!ā£ #hibachi #hibachirecipe
Travel is amazing and it can be absolutely wonderful for your person growth. But not unlike reading, it doesnā€™t mean that everybody who does itā€¦will grow as a person. Some people may choose to travel mainly to resorts, just like some people may choose to pickup books with the goal to confirm their existing biases. The decision to expose yourself to more has to require you to first relinquish control over what you ā€œneedā€ to get from something. And second, if youā€™ll allow yourself to be minimally disruptive over what you are observing as an existing and breathing atmosphere. - I am not a travel influencer, per se, but I grew up right outside of the Yosemite Nat. Park and I have some strong opinions on the way social media has impacted tourism. Too many people are destination oriented and final experience driven, now. It removes a lot of the effort and experimentation that is required for true adventure. I understand using reviews to make a decision. But does every single thing you experience have to be curated by social media reviews? Recommendations from influencers? A Map, a tingle of curiosity, and your feet, will take you to some wonderful places IN BETWEEN. I believe a lot of the places I frequented as a kid were beautiful to see people from all over the world experience. But as soon as social media came about, it made it easier to discover a new spot. Which in turn lowered the barrier of effort to find and discover things. When you lower that barrier of effort, itā€™s often people treat a place as a stop off point in their own story and begin to disregard that place they found as worthy of respect in its own vacuum. Youā€™ll notice I donā€™t tag specific destinations in my life adventures. Itā€™s not to make you mad, itā€™s to inspire you. To have less meals that are promised by 5 āļø reviews. To look out the window while you travel. And maybe donā€™t edit the fucking photos until you get home ā˜ŗļø - In a sense, I did visit Japan. šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡µ But in a sense I feel like know less about it now. And possibly less about who I thought I was. And for now, I am ok with that. Earn your next favorite spots, with google maps and a little fuckinā€™ whimsy.
