Niamh O’Malley’s solo institutional exhibition ‘Pure Gold’ is now on view at VISUAL Carlow, Ireland, until 10 January 2027.

The exhibition presents new sculpture, drawing, film and installation made in response to Dublin’s Irish Life Centre, a modernist complex built between 1974 and 1985.

O’Malley repurposes original gold-hued ‘solar shield’ glass salvaged from the building’s façade, transforming the material into a series of functional, modular standard lamps and large-scale installations.

Alongside these works, new drawings and a film made in the artist’s studio at the Irish Life Centre consider light, reflection and the changing material life of the building.

At Frieze London, 14–18 October 2026, Vardaxoglou is pleased to present two sculptures by Niamh O’Malley previously shown in the artist’s Irish Pavilion at Venice Biennale in 2022.
