These dogs were never meant to make it out alive 💔 Big Dog Ranch Rescue assisted @forgotten_now_family_rescue and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) in dismantling two dog fighting operations in South Carolina.

Dog fighting is one of the cruelest forms of animal abuse that exists. Dogs are forced to fight one another, often to the point of devastating injury or death, all for entertainment and profit. They are bred, conditioned, and pushed past every natural limit, then left to suffer through deep wounds, broken bones, and infections.

What we found was absolutely gut wrenching. These dogs were living outdoors on chains, exposed to harsh conditions, with nothing but rotted wooden structures for shelter.

In operations like these, dogs who lose fights or are no longer considered useful are often executed, drowned, or poisoned with antifreeze. For these dogs, every day was a fight to survive, and another day was never promised to them.

Today, they are finally off those chains and in the care of veterinarians, experiencing what it feels like to be safe for the very first time.

It is heartbreaking that this cruel practice still runs rampant across America. Dog fighting is not a thing of the past. It is happening right now, in communities everywhere, and it will take all of us to put an end to it. Every operation like this needs to be shut down, and every person responsible needs to be held accountable.

Thank you to Forgotten Now Family Rescue and the SLED team for their dedication to protecting these dogs and making sure their suffering ends here.🙏
