The Aki Way

If there’s ONE thing you’re gonna get… it’s THE AKI WAY. 😏🎛️🔥

And the crazy part? None of this was practiced.

One of my favorite things about DJing is mixing, looping, and creating moments on the fly. If you watch closely, you can actually see me set the loop on the overlay track in real time. I already had a loop running underneath, heard where I wanted the next track to come in, and just went for it.

This was only my second time ever using this mixer, and I’m not gonna lie… I get it. 😂 For house music especially, being able to carve out frequencies and shape the sound gives you so much room to play.

But that vinyl brake? THAT’S MY SH*T. 😮‍💨

I love using the brake from the CDJ instead of relying solely on the mixer because it creates that dramatic little pause… then BOOM — back into the groove. It’s become one of those little things that feels very Aki when I’m behind the decks.

That’s what I love about DJing: eventually you stop just playing songs and start developing your own language.

So DJs… 👀
What’s YOUR signature move behind the decks?
