POSTS STORIES REELS

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss being behind the decks at @theblinddonkeylbc. 🥹🎧

When you pour yourself into a residency, it becomes more than just another place to DJ. You build a sound, a community, an energy—and eventually, a little piece of that room starts to feel like yours.

One of my favorite things to witness was the shift.

It went from people nervously asking, “What kind of music are you playing tonight?” 😂 to people coming back because they knew exactly what kind of night they were going to get.

That means something to me.

As a queer DJ who uses music, fashion, movement, and self-expression as part of my artistry, finding space to show up authentically matters—especially in a venue that isn’t exclusively an LGBTQ+ space.

That’s part of what I’ve grown to love about The Blind Donkey. It brings together so many different walks of life under one roof. And while every space has its speed bumps, being heard, understood, and given the freedom to create has allowed me to help shape nights where people can simply come in, dance, let go, and BE.

That’s the power of nightlife when we get it right. 🪩

I’m grateful for every person who danced, screamed, sang, requested a song, discovered a song they didn’t know they needed, or came back because they remembered how the last night made them feel.

Long Beach, I miss nights like THIS.

And I’m looking forward to bringing this energy back. ❤️‍🔥

If you’ve ever caught one of my sets at The Blind Donkey, what’s ONE song or moment you remember? 👇🏾 by @djliberaki

🪩 LONG BEACH, WE’RE TAKING YOU BACK TO STUDIO 54. 🪩

Back to when the beats were funky, the outfits were questionable, the dance floors were sweaty, and going home early was considered a personality flaw. 💅🏾

That’s right… EVERYBODY DANCE is turning 5, and we’re celebrating the only way we know how:

DISCO DOWN. 🕺🏾🪩💃🏾

Saturday, September 5th, we’re transforming Good Bar into our own little disco den — serving deep cutz, funky grooves, house, soul, disco and enough bass to make you reconsider every responsible decision you planned on making that evening.

And when we say deep cuts, we mean it.
Not just the songs your auntie plays at the cookout. 😭
We’re digging in the crates.

🪩 5 YEARS OF EVERYBODY DANCE.
Five years of music. Five years of community. Five years of making questionable decisions because “wait… this is my song.”

Tell your friends. Tell your situationship. Tell the person you’ve been avoiding. Hell, bring them both.

Just make sure they can dance. 😏

Long Beach… meet us under the disco ball. 🪩

If there’s ONE thing you’re gonna get… it’s THE AKI WAY. 😏🎛️🔥

And the crazy part? None of this was practiced.

One of my favorite things about DJing is mixing, looping, and creating moments on the fly. If you watch closely, you can actually see me set the loop on the overlay track in real time. I already had a loop running underneath, heard where I wanted the next track to come in, and just went for it.

This was only my second time ever using this mixer, and I’m not gonna lie… I get it. 😂 For house music especially, being able to carve out frequencies and shape the sound gives you so much room to play.

But that vinyl brake? THAT’S MY SH*T. 😮‍💨

I love using the brake from the CDJ instead of relying solely on the mixer because it creates that dramatic little pause… then BOOM — back into the groove. It’s become one of those little things that feels very Aki when I’m behind the decks.

That’s what I love about DJing: eventually you stop just playing songs and start developing your own language.

So DJs… 👀
What’s YOUR signature move behind the decks?

LONG BEACH, LET YOUR HARE DOWN. 🐇✨

We’re turning The Hare into a full-on mood for the night, good food, dirty disco, strong drinks, and the kind of music that makes you say, “okay… one more round.”

I’ll be on the decks serving dance, disco, funk, feel-good grooves, and whatever the room needs all night long.

Come early, grab dinner, order a cocktail, bring your people, and stay until you’re dancing all night long. 😏

🪩👻 BRINGING IT ALL THE WAY LIVE… but this time, MAKE IT SPOOKY. 🎃🔥

We’re back with the same energy, the same heat, and the same music that keeps you moving — but this time we have ONE assignment:

D.A.N.C.E. 🕺🏾💃🏾

We’re kicking off spooky season the only way we know how: funkier, bigger, bolder, and just a little unhinged. 😈

And this one is EXTRA special because we’re celebrating our fabulous resident Libra, @djliberaki, for their BIRTHDAY! ♎️🎂🪩

Your in-house selectors:
🎧 @hlp_nprevail
🎧 @djliberaki
🎧 @nativitymusic

Expect disco. Expect funk. Expect house. Expect the kind of songs that make you scream “WAIT… THIS IS MY SONG!” from across the room. 😂

And come EARLY because @thegoodbarlongbeach is serving food until 10PM — eat first, then work it off on the dance floor. 🍔➡️🕺🏾

So pull out the fits, bring the crew, summon your dancing spirit, and come help us bring in the spookiest month of the year with a BANG. 💥👻

Birthday behavior is HIGHLY encouraged. 🎂🥂

See you on the dance floor. 🪩

My camera roll makes absolutely no sense…

Amanda Bynes.
Tyra’s legendary bangs.
A Rooster with eyes in the front.
James Brown sweat.
A bootleg Beyoncé & Rihanna DVD.

And right in the middle…

My mom.

She just graduated from nursing school, and I couldn’t be prouder. Watching someone you love commit themselves to caring for others is a reminder that every achievement deserves to be celebrated.

Maybe that’s why Everybody Dance means so much to me.

It’s a night to celebrate the big wins, the small wins, the people who raised us, the music that shaped us, and the moments that make us laugh.
