The well-known TV actor cum host Arjun Bijlani and his wife Neha Swami, recently faced a massive backlash after the latter was seen wearing a T-shirt that featured words in Urdu referring to Prophet Muhammad. The couple took to social media and have issued a clarification on the same. Their statement mentioned, ‘"We would like to address the ongoing situation concerning Neha Swami Bijlani and the T-shirt she was recently spotted wearing, which featured words in Urdu referring to the Prophet. Neha was completely unaware of the meaning and significance of the writing on the T-shirt when she wore it. There was absolutely no intention to hurt, disrespect or offend the religious sentiments of any individual or community. We sincerely respect all religions, faiths and beliefs, and would never knowingly do anything to hurt the sentiments of others. While we understand that people may have strong feelings about matters of religious significance, the trolling, abusive language, curses and threats directed at Neha are deeply distressing and unacceptable. A situation arising from a lack of awareness should not become a reason to subject an individual to online harassment or threats. It was a t-shirt gifted by a fan in Bangkok at a mall and we didn’t know the meaning of what was written, we celebrate all festivals and we will never hurt anyone's sentiments in any way. We are sorry for what happened unintentionally and we will always be careful in future with regards to the gifts received. We request everyone to approach this matter with understanding. sensitivity and compassion, and to refrain from spreading hate or targeting Neha and her family. We believe that mutual respect and dialogue are far more constructive than abuse and intimidation. We hope this clarification helps put the matter into perspective and request everyone to allow the situation to be addressed with dignity and understanding.'🙏🏻💬

6 Charlotte Cops May Soon Be Unemployed After Racist Group Chat Exposes Alleged Competition to Pull Over Black Drivers Bogged by: Grace L. A disturbing police scandal is unfolding in North Carolina, where six Charlotte officers have been suspended without pay amid allegations that members of the force exchanged racist text messages, including discussions about competing to pull over Black motorists. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has recommended terminating six officers following an internal investigation into the messages. Another officer connected to the controversy reportedly resigned, bringing the number of personnel implicated in the broader investigation to at least seven. According to WBTV, sources familiar with the investigation claim officers participated in a group conversation that included a competition over who could stop the most Black drivers. The messages also allegedly featured repeated use of the N-word in conversations concerning police use of force and discharging firearms at Black residents. One particularly troubling message, obtained by WCNC, reportedly came from an officer who acknowledged that “our texts sound like a clan rally.” The comparison has intensified concerns about racial discrimination within the department, especially considering that officers are entrusted with enforcing laws fairly, regardless of race. The disturbing messages reportedly surfaced during an unrelated criminal investigation involving former CMPD officer Seth Elliott. Investigators with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation were examining allegations that Elliott improperly accessed Flock Safety license plate recognition technology and other law enforcement resources. Court documents reportedly accuse Elliott of using police technology to assist someone connected to a drug investigation. During that inquiry, investigators obtained data from his cellphone and subsequently discovered the alleged racist conversations involving other officers. The findings prompted CMPD to launch its own internal investigation, ultimately resulting in the disciplinary recommendations.
