today’s sidequest: visiting DoorDash HQ because I was promised drones. I was not lied to 🚁

For years, ordering food has meant watching a tiny car on the map sit at the same red light for 10 minutes. Now future me will be in the backyard staring at the sky like a golden retriever who heard the treat bag, right after texting DoorDash “idk, the usual but different.”

Standing next to that thing, I kept thinking about how kid me would’ve lost it. We always pictured the future as flying cars and robot butlers, and instead it’s sneaking in through lunch.

Comment LAUNCH to join my 4 week live content growth challenge.

This is the ultimate storytelling framework for boring businesses.

It’s called the Story Pyramid.

And this is the easiest way to get people addicted to your content, even if you talk about super boring topics.

Step 1 is to pick the right topic in the first place.

You want to pick subjects where there’s broad awareness in your category, but still aligns with the biggest pain points your viewer faces.

Don’t talk about things that are super obscure or not important to the viewer…because the TAM for those ideas is just too small.

Step 2 is to find a novel angle on that topic.

Content only works in 2 scenarios.

Either your topic is new and you tell me about it, or it’s old, but you wrap it in a new frame.

The best new frames come from some state change or reveal.

For example, if you make content about tax accounting.

What new laws have passed in the last 6 months that enabled strategies that weren’t possible before.

Step 3 is Contrast Framing.

When you write your scripts or speak in your content, position the new reality against the old way of doing things.

This comparison frame will make your new take feel more interesting.

People’s brains think in comparative relationships…so A vs B always works.

Step 4 is called Desire Anchoring.

As you explain the story, connect this new reveal with the desired outcome the viewer wants.

If you remind them of their desired outcome, and frame how this new thing will get them there, it will make them eager to keep watching.

These 4 steps together are a recipe for making anything interesting, even if it starts with a super boring topic.

If you want to become a master at short-form storytelling, I’m running a 4 week content growth challenge, where I’ll walkthrough everything I know about scaling
on social media.

Comment “LAUNCH” and I’ll send you the link.

Happy 7 years to @do.what_moves.you 🤍✨

Couldn’t help but create a flashback edit of this journey! 🥹

I grew up learning Bharatanatyam from the age of four and for the longest time, that was the only kind of dance form I knew. Even when I danced to western or folk at work events, I was always told I had a “classical touch.” My movements were rigid, my energy was low, I lacked flow and honestly I was hesitant and far from confident.

Then came October 17th 2019, the day I decided to document my dance journey here on Instagram, not knowing where it would take me. I just knew I wanted to get better.

And I kept going. ❤️

Through learning from youtube videos, online classes during the pandemic, countless hours of practice, experimenting with different styles, creating my own choreographies, attending dance workshops, pushing my boundaries and showing up even when progress felt slow.

Somewhere along the way, I found more than just better movement. I found freedom, expression and a confidence I didn’t have when I started.

And this is exactly what @do.what_moves.you has always meant to me. To follow what moves you, keep showing up for it and let it transform you in ways you never imagined.

7 years in. Still learning. Still growing. Still moving. And I am nowhere near done. 🥹❤️🧿 I’m thankful to all my teachers and grateful for all my cheerleaders. 🫂✨
