Who has read The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka?
I am attempting to read at least one German book during this month’s reading challenge 📖
This is an English translation of the first sentence of the book:
“As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a monstrous vermin.”
Wer hat Die Verwandlung von Franz Kafka gelesen?
Ich versuche, im Rahmen der Lese-Challenge dieses Monats mindestens ein deutsches Buch zu lesen 📖
Das ist der erste Satz des Buches:
„Als Gregor Samsa eines Morgens aus unruhigen Träumen erwachte, fand er sich in seimen Bett zu einem ungeheueren Ungeziefer verwandelt.“

I have this tiny yellow copy that I bought during my first Deutschkurs in Köln in 2011. I keep taking it on flights and somehow forgetting it’s in my bag… 🫢

I’ve read it in English and German!! Most accessible of Kafka’s stories, for sure. Viel Spaß!
